It's been Christmas party week at the centre and everyone had had such a good time!
We started the day with tea and toast and a good old natter about peoples plans for Christmas. Our first game was to try and throw hoops on my antlers. If you got one on you won a chocolate. We then played hangman on the whiteboard, with clients guessing Christmas movies, songs and items. After that we broke off for tea and mince pies and some had a small glass of sherry. To finish the morning we played Christmas bingo and sang some carols and songs to really get us in the festive mood. For lunch Angela cooked a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and for dessert we had a choice of Christmas pudding with cream or profiteroles. Many thanks to Angela and Pauline who did a fantastic job in the kitchen. Its the one time of the year where staff, volunteers and clients sit together for lunch which is really nice. After lunch we had a raffle where everyone got a prize. Many thanks to staff, volunteers and clients family who kindly contributed to the raffle, we are really grateful. We then played pass the parcel which is always fun and finished the afternoon with a visit from Santa who gave out gifts to everyone. Its so heart-warming to see our clients having a lovely time and that's the aim of our centre every day we are open throughout the year. I would like to thank our dedicated team of staff who work tirelessly for the centre. Also our wonderful band of volunteers who give up their time to support our charity. We wouldn't be able to do it without their help! From all the staff, volunteers and trustees we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy new year! THE DAY CENTRE WILL BE CLOSED OVER THE HOLIDAY PERIOD. OUR LAST DAY IS THURSDAY 14TH DECEMBER. WE REOPEN ON TUESDAY 2ND JANUARY 2024.

We have really been getting into the festive swing with Christmas music playing.
Clients this week have been making more festive decorations. We have used small cardboard cones and wrapped fringed tissue paper around and decorated with small items to make mini Christmas trees. We have also been colouring in small wooden wreaths for the tree. Other activities were a Christmas quiz, colouring, word searches, triominoes, dominoes and bingo. Ann took her chair based exercise class on Wednesday. For lunch Angela cooked pork chops with mashed potatoes, cabbage, carrots and home made rice pudding for dessert. We are now looking forward to our Christmas parties next week which will be the final week we are open until the new year. |
