Its been the build up to Easter and we have had a busy week at the centre.
Clients have been making Easter chicks. They wrapped wool around a curtain ring, made a pom pom to insert through the ring for the body and attached a head and feet and voila! Angela made cup cakes and clients decorated them with butter cream and mini eggs, suffice to say they didn't last long! Other activities were an Easter quiz, naming opposites of words, dominoes, triominoes, colouring, word searches, sudoku and bingo. We also had chair based exercise this week which we all enjoy. For lunch Angela cooked, pork slices in gravy with mashed potatoes, cabbage and cauliflower and trifle for dessert. From everyone at the Day Centre we wish you a lovely Easter weekend!

At last the weather has turned a little milder and Spring is in the air!
This week at the centre we made clocks. We have saved chocolate tub lids from Christmas and these have been used for clock faces. We had a variety of different design numbers for our clients to choose. Also we had the option to paint MDF circles or squares and paint clock faces in the colours they wanted. They have really enjoyed making them and are pleased with the results. We also took part in a comedies quiz which always brings up memories and discussion. Other activities included word searches, colouring, bingo, draughts, dominoes and triominoes. For lunch Angela cooked cottage pie with peas and sweetcorn with lemon sponge and custard for dessert! Since our last post clients have been decorating magnifying glasses. There are some lovely designs with different colours and decorations and the clients really enjoyed themselves.
We also had a finish the movie title discussion which brought back memories of films they watched and actors in them. Kempston Hammers choir came into entertain us on Wednesday afternoon. We all had a lovely singalong and we thank the choir for their continued support. Ann took her chair based exercise class on Wednesday. Other activities included colouring, word searches, dominoes, triominoes, draughts and bingo. For lunch Angela cooked corned beef hash with peas and cauliflower and berry crumble and cream for dessert. |
