We have been preparing for the coronation this week by making paper chains for decorations. Also clients have been painting white stones, some with Union Jacks and others as ladybirds or butterflies. I think they look really good. We are all looking forward to the celebrations.
Other games have included word searches, quizzes, triominoes and bingo. Ann and Gill took their chair based exercise class on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Angela cooked pork chops with roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli. For dessert we had meringues with cream and fresh fruit.

With Spring in the air we had a flower themed week at the centre.
Volunteer Pauline helped our clients designing their own flower arrangements. The clients were thrilled with them and were looking forward to taking them home. To carry on with the theme we had a flower based quiz. Our last activity of the day was to name as many female singers as we could. With a joint effort from clients, staff and volunteers we managed 107! Ann and Gill took their chair based exercise classes on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Other activities included triominoes, word searches and colouring. Angela cooked cottage pie with peas and cauliflower. For dessert we had apple and sultana sponge with ice cream. Next week we will be preparing for the coronation celebrations! Another busy week at the centre.
This week's activity was making sheep rings. We wound wool around a curtain ring and made a sheep's face, placed on some eyes and voila. They can be hung as an ornament and I think they look really good. We also played a game on the whiteboard, naming as many male singers as we could. We managed 95 which was a really good effort! Hazel brought in a book from 1794 which was really interesting and we also looked at some old movie cards which brought some discussion points. Ann took her chair based exercise class on Wednesday. Other activities included triominoes, word searches and a quiz. Angela cooked Roast chicken with new potatoes, carrots and cabbage for lunch with profiteroles and cream for dessert. After such a horrible few weeks of wet weather it's looking better for Easter weekend.
And with Easter in mind clients designed their own egg cups with ceramic paints. Once done they are cured in the oven and then ready to use. There are some lovely designs and everyone enjoyed making one. We also played a game on the whiteboard, naming as many words ending with ent. This was really good and got everyone's minds thinking. We managed to find 91 words which was a great effort! Other activities were word searches, a quiz, bingo and triominoes. Ann and Gill took their chair based exercise classes on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Angela cooked gammon, egg and chips with peas and a tomato for lunch with chocolate sponge and custard for dessert. |
