This week clients made Easter cards. They also made other cards for birthdays. There were some lovely designs and clients were really pleased with them.
One of our clients Pat brought in some of her paintings and sketches. They were really lovely, she is so talented! Ann and Gill took chair based exercise classes on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Wells Hollow Band played for us on Thursday afternoon. They play traditional Irish, Scottish and English folk music. The tunes get you clapping and our clients love to see them play. Angela cooked corned beef hash with carrots and broccoli. Lunch was finished off with Strawberry or , mandarin cheesecake for dessert. Other games included a quiz, bingo, triominoes and word searches

This week clients finished off their decorative coat hangers. They had painted a bass coat and then flowers. They look really lovely.
Some clients decorated shopping bags. They created their design and embellished with embroidery. Our whiteboard game this week was to name as many flowers as possible and we managed over 70! Ann and Gill took chair based exercise classes on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Angela cooked roast pork with roast potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, Yorkshire puddings and a bit of crackling. Lunch was finished off with trifle for dessert. Other games included a quiz, bingo, triominoes and word searches Numbers are increasing and makes for a lovely atmosphere with clients chatting, laughing and enjoying themselves.
We had a guess the actors picture quiz where clients had to identify old movie stars and then we discussed which movies they had starred in. We also did paint blobbing, putting small blobs of paint on the centre of a page, folding in half and spreading the contents. When opened it reveals a picture. It's amazing to see what you can see in the picture, like a bird, bear and flowers. Thanks to Terry who entertained us on Wednesday afternoon playing his saxophone and ukulele. Ann took her chair based exercise class on Wednesday. One of our clients Terry brought in some of her lovely artwork. The pictures were lovely and everyone enjoyed looking at them. Angela cooked a cottage pie with cauliflower and cabbage for lunch and for dessert we had meringues with cream and fresh fruit. We had another lovely week at the day centre.
Clients saw a variety of old toys this week, including conkers, marbles, bat and ball on elastic and other items from the past. It's always good to bring back memories for discussion. We also had 20 close up pictures on guess the object. Some were quite difficult but clients did really well in getting quite a few correct. Ann and Gill took chair based exercise classes on Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon we took part in a music quiz. Clients love a good singalong and the music brings back good memories. On Thursday afternoon the Wells Hollow Band played for us. They play traditional Irish, Scottish and English, folk music and we really enjoyed their playing. Thanks to Maggie who is a great supporter of the centre through the band and Kempston Hammers Choir. Brenda cooked a lasagne with chips and cheesy focaccia. For dessert clients had a Manchester tart. |
