This week we carried on our theme of animal hanging ornaments. In the past we have made sheep and a bear. This time we have been making owls. We wrap wool around a curtain ring, then make a pom pom for its belly. Its head beak and feet are cut out from coloured foam sheets. The clients really enjoy making them and i think they look really good.
It was Burns night this week and we had a Scottish quiz and word search. Other activities were playing cards, dominoes, colouring and triominoes. Ann took her chair based exercise class this week. For lunch Angela cooked gammon, egg, chips and peas with apple and sultana sponge for dessert. We also cooked haggis for anyone who wanted to try! Next week our bring and buy sale starts which will last for 2 weeks. If anyone has any unwanted gifts or items they want to donate it would be much appreciated.

Wow, what a cold week. I am certainly looking forward to warmer times.
This week clients had a choice of various activities. We decorated small boxes where we placed a chocolate inside which could be given to a loved one. We also decorated wind chimes, butterflies and stained glass style circles to place in the window. On Thursday we had a chair based exercises class. Other activities were a quiz, word searches, dominoes, triominoes and bingo. For lunch Angela cooked pork slices with roast potatoes carrots and broccoli with berry strudel and ice cream for dessert. If anyone has any unwanted gifts or items for our bring and buy sale it would be much appreciated. The sale starts on Tuesday 30th January to Thursday 1st February. Well we certainly are in the middle of winter and its a very cold spell at the moment.

Well its great to be back after the holidays. Clients were having a good chat about their Christmas, sharing stories and what gifts they had. This week we made bird feeders. We threaded multigrain hoops on cord and also smeared peanut butter on pine cones and then dipped them in bird seed. I am sure the birds will appreciate them. Ann took her chair based exercise class on Wednesday and it was good to have a gentle stretch after the holidays. Other activities were dominoes, triominoes, colouring, word searches and a quiz with answers beginning with o.
